NEW WORK: Chiropractor's Office / Corporate Lifestyle

I recently photographed Family & Sports Chiropractic in Allen, TX. They were looking for new headshots of the doctor, a staff group photograph, interiors and exteriors of their new office building, and lifestyle photos of their staff working with patients.

I put together a package that included all of their photographic needs, along with light retouching and a licensing fee for usage of the images for 2 years.

Part of my job as a photographer when I work directly with the clients (instead of with an advertising agency) is educating my clients about the licensing photographs. Most clients do not understand that the photographer’s creative fee includes the photo shoot, but not the usage of photographic files. Also, many clients think they will want to use the photographs forever, but this is rarely the case. A full buy-out of the images is costly and most frequently unnecessary.

For example, everyone should have a new headshot taken every two years. Also, with office staff changes, new medical equipment, and moving office locations, I typically urge my clients to license the photos for their website only, and for only 2 years. With some clients, a 5 year license makes the most sense.

Because we effectively communicated all the details with the client before the photo shoot, and everyone was ready and on the same page, the photoshoot ran very smoothly and the client was very happy with the final images. I was able to capture genuine moments, while also depicting the welcoming environment and state-of-the-art facilities of Family & Sports Chiropractic’s office.
